Background & Role: Joe Keller is a Superintendent and a Journeyman PL01 at CRP, where he's worked since 2011, giving him over 13 years with the company. He was homeschooled due to dyslexia and lacked confidence in school. However, his father, a contractor, inspired Joe through hands-on projects, especially when they built the family home together. Another pivotal influence in Joe’s life was Ben Hipke, a successful plumber, whose mentorship inspired Joe to pursue a career in plumbing, proving to himself that success was within reach.  Joe’s career began in residential plumbing where he gained experience plumbing houses and retirement homes, eventually earning his PL02 (residential license). However, Joe felt limited by residential work and sought the greater challenges of commercial plumbing. He thrives on constant learning and compares each new project to solving a puzzle, which keeps him engaged and motivated.

Work-Life: On a typical day, Joe oversees his crew’s schedule, provides direction, and ensures productivity, all while working alongside them. One of his proudest achievements at CRP was managing the Ridgeview Elementary School project from start to finish—the largest project of his career so far. Joe fosters a fun and relaxed team environment, even giving new hires nicknames. However, when deadlines approach, the team knows how to come together and work hard to meet them. Joe was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and family-like support he received from CRP's owners, Tanner and Desiree, who made him feel valued beyond just his role as an employee.

Personal Interests: Since the birth of his son, Samuel, Joe's world has been joyfully transformed. Now, much of his time is devoted to coaching Samuel in sports, creating. family memories and connecting with friends. Joe still finds moments to enjoy his passion for fishing.

Fun & Lighthearted: Though Joe considers himself a bit of a jokester, he usually only reveals that side once he’s comfortable with someone. While he avoids karaoke, he does pride himself on being a "jukebox guru," knowing a wide range of songs.

Looking Ahead: In the future, Joe hopes to build his own shop and continue advancing in his career at CRP. He’s motivated by providing for his family and maintaining a fun work environment. Joe highly recommends plumbing as a trade, emphasizing its job security and financial stability.  He was able to buy his first home at 24 years of age.  In five years, he hopes to return to Kennewick, live further out in the country, and take on a managerial role where he can confidently teach and oversee others in the trade.

Note from the Owners: We have thoroughly loved having Joe as both a team member and a forever part of our extended family. Watching Joe grow from a new commercial plumber into an extremely valuable and experienced leader has been an incredible journey. His dedication, skill, and passion are something we truly value, and we are grateful to have him as part of our team. We also cherish his wonderful family and all that they bring to our CRP family. We wish Joe nothing but the best and are excited to see what the future holds for all of us together!
